Plan what, how much, and who feeds each day so your fish are fed consistently and never overfed, even when someone else is helping.

Feeding without overfeeding

Feed only what your fish finish in 1-2 minutes, once or twice a day for most species.
Variety helps: rotate quality flakes/pellets with frozen or live foods suited to your fish.
Uneaten food rots into ammonia, the number one cause of cloudy, unhealthy water.
A weekly fast day is fine and even healthy for many adult fish.
Match food type and size to the species: surface, mid-water, and bottom feeders differ.
